Does our company need to already have an AI server?

No. We can set up Ollama and the required models or plan a central infrastructure together with you.

Do we have to install Ollama ourselves?

No. We can handle installation and model configuration for you.

Does Alcilla.Desk work without a graphics card?

Many models can run on the CPU, although they are usually slower. We assess whether this is sufficient for your use case based on the desired functions and data volumes. A suitable GPU is often advisable for larger models, image analysis, fast response times, or multiple users.

Is our data transferred to a cloud provider?

In the standard local operating mode, knowledge indexing and model processing take place in your own environment. External connections occur only through configured functions, such as email, calendars, web research, or an explicitly selected external model endpoint. Alcilla does not collect telemetry data.

Is Alcilla automatically GDPR-compliant?

Software alone cannot guarantee GDPR compliance in every situation. Configuration, data types, permissions, and organizational measures are decisive. Alcilla supports controlled local operation; the specific assessment must be carried out within the company. For more information, see Security and data protection.

Which data is stored centrally?

In the central model, personal content such as chat histories, notes, and Recorder data remains local. Approved knowledge and shared Kanban boards can be provided centrally. See Operating models.

Does Alcilla use existing email accounts?

Yes, provided the mail server supports a suitable IMAP and SMTP connection. Authentication, TLS, and organizational requirements must be reviewed in advance. For more information, see Email, calendars, and tasks.

Can Alcilla work with our calendar?

CalDAV and ICS-based integrations are planned. Because providers implement CalDAV differently, the specific target system must be tested.

Are original documents modified during conversion?

No. Additional processed text files are created for search. The original documents remain unchanged. For more information, see Knowledge, index, and documents or Research, vision, and conversion.

Can Alcilla search PDF and Word documents?

Using the optional document conversion service, supported Office and PDF documents can be prepared for the knowledge index and then searched.

Can Alcilla analyze images?

Yes, provided a suitable multimodal model has been configured. Quality depends on the model and image material. See Research, vision, and conversion.

Can Alcilla conduct web research?

Yes, when web search through SearXNG has been configured. Research is optional and accesses external websites. See Integrations.

Can different AI models be used?

Yes. Different models can be used for chat, search, email, research, meeting minutes, or image analysis. For more information, see AI models and Ollama.

What happens when the search model is changed?

When the embedding model is changed, the knowledge index must be rebuilt. Alcilla alerts you to this necessary step.

Can Alcilla be used by a single user?

Yes. When operated locally, Alcilla can be used by one person without a central instance. See Operating models or Consulting and support.

Do you provide assistance with installation and operation?

Yes. Services can range from architecture consulting and installation to model selection, integration, training, updates, and support. For more information, see Consulting and support.

Is an individual assessment possible?

Yes. Before a pilot project, we can record your requirements, systems, and security specifications in a workshop and use them to develop a concrete introduction proposal.
